I’m part of a team (including BAFTA-winning Director Matt Lipsey) working on a TV documentary – for which this is the website! In four hour-long episodes we tell the tale of four hotels whose names evoke the memories of artists who always said YES to excess: the Joshua Tree Motel, Chateau Marmont, The Chelsea Hotel and the Algonquin. Since writing the website I’ve written a detailed treatment, verging on being a finished screenplay, for the Chateau Marmont episode. I was also the one who came up with the name ‘Heartbreak Hotels’! Once the film is in production, there are plans for a coffee table style book (written by yours truly), a series of albums featuring artists who lived and died in these hotels and even a three-dimensional  interactive hotel experience – online and in the flesh!
